How do I find my Banktivity ID login credentials in the new Banktivity?

Posted on July 10, 2025July 10, 2025 by Marcie Bernat

When using the new Banktivity, you may be asked to log in to your Banktivity ID account. The username and password are saved in the Keychain Access app on your Mac, so you can look up the credentials in the Keychain Access app through the following steps.

  1. First, open the Keychain Access app.
Click Here for a guide from Apple Support explaining how to open apps on your Mac.
✻ If you are prompted to open the “Passwords” app, please choose “Open Keychain Access”.
  2. In Keychain Access, click on the search bar in the top right corner of the window, then type (or copy & paste) the following to search for:
    com.iggsoftware.service.authentication
  3. Double-Click on the listing for “com.iggsoftware.service.authentication”, then in the next window that appears, check the box next to the words “Show Password”. When you are asked for the “login/keychain password”, please enter the Admin user password for your Mac (this is the same password you use to unlock your Mac after restarting). Then you should see the encryption password.
Please note that you will also see an “Account” displayed when “com.iggsoftware.service.authentication” is selected. This would be the “Login/username” for your Banktivity ID account (this may or may not be your email address).
